2010 Year In Review

December 31, 2010

Reviewing the past year from both my life & stuff in the media that I thought was relevant/significant (some are copied & pasted from Wikipedia.org– see everything on the 2010 Wiki page):

January:

February:

March:

  • Started this Cherry Ambition blog, along with my other blogs

April:

May:

  • First (and potentially last) Paramore concert; the Paramore set was probably the best set I’ve seen by any band live. Now with Josh & Zac gone… who knows what will happen to the band.
  • Godsister graduated from med school & moved to Hawaii; wanted me to come visit her, but never got to because I don’t have the money for it
  • Sunday night, May 23- Lost ended with a big finale (which I both understood & enjoyed, while others did not; oh well)
  • Monday night, May 24- 24 ended (there’s supposed to be at least one movie coming out to tie up all the ends left open by the series finale)

June:

  • Beginning of Summer 2010 (I just love warmer weather); nothing significant happened really. I hoped something would, but nothing did.

July:

  • Inception came out in theatres (and I actually saw it opening weekend, which I normally don’t do). If you saw it, you know what I’m talking about, I don’t need to say more. If you didn’t– go rent it in 2011.
  • July 25Wikileaks, an online publisher of anonymous, covert, and classified material, leaks to the public over 90,000 internal reports about the United States-led involvement in the War in Afghanistan from 2004 to 2010.
  • My 42-year-old aunt (mom’s half-sister) passed away in Vienna, Austria (her birthplace & home) from an aneurysm, probably due to unhealthy living. We didn’t find out until a week after she died, and couldn’t attend the funeral in Austria.

August:

September:

  • End of Summer 2010; again, nothing really happened.

October:

November:

December:

  • Unemployment benefits program was extended for 13 months (good for me since I’m still unemployed; no good for the 99ers, as it did not extend unemployment benefits past 99 weeks; IT ONLY EXTENDED THE PROGRAM ITSELF)
  • For the first time in years, my grandparents got snowed OUT of New York City & ended up spending a full week with us instead of just 3 days. (They left today.)

2010 in a nutshell for me. Post on my “resolutions” coming up in a later post…
